Church Planting & Hurricane Irma

As Mercy Hill celebrates our 5-year anniversary, one of our church plants begins the journey this coming Sunday. Grace Alive in Orlando, Florida officially launches on Sunday, September 17th.

In the spring of this year, 16 people from Mercy Hill Church moved their lives to Orlando to help start a new church. Grace Alive seeks to be a movement for all people to discover, deepen, and display their relationship with Jesus. Already, the church has seen 146 people attend their preview service on August 27th, and two of those in attendance took next steps in their faith!

But in the week leading up to their official launch, Grace Alive is facing an unexpected challenge: Hurricane Irma.

Preparations for launch day were put on pause as the leaders and launch team members evacuated north. Severe flooding occurred in the neighborhoods around Grace Alive where 150 residents needed to be rescued by the National Guard. How these floods will impact the launch day is uncertain. But join us in praying that Grace Alive would see God do more than they could even ask or imagine.
